Detel is a brand you’d normally associate with consumer electronics, but more recently, the brand has been developing electric vehicles as well. The latest product from the Indian brand is the Easy Plus EV, targeted primarily at delivery-oriented businesses.
What’s The Price? Who Are Its Rivals?
Priced at Rs 39,999, it is one of the most affordable electric scooters on sale in the market at the moment and can be pre-booked at the brand’s website for a mere Rs 1,999. In the past couple of years, electric two-wheelers have been showing a keen interest in the B2C segment, and the Detel EV’s direct rival is the Okinawa Dual. However, the latter is priced close to Rs 60,000. Other competitors include the Hero Electric Nyx, however, the e-scooter packs a superior motor and gives a respectable range of 210km.

What's New?
The Detel Easy Plus may seem like a puny e-vehicle meant for carrying just one person, however, it has a respectable payload capacity of 170kg. Like most commercial electric two-wheelers, the Detel EV’s top speed is limited to 25kmph. As for the motor, it is a humble 250Watt hub unit paired to a 20Ah lithium-ion battery. This battery has a claimed range of up to 60km and takes 4 to 5 hours to charge.
In terms of features, it gets an LED headlight, LED indicators and even a digital dashboard. Braking is handled by drum brakes at both ends while a telescopic fork and dual shocks take care of suspension duties.
ZigSays
At Rs 39,999, the Detel Easy Plus is a great option for small delivery-oriented businesses. The brand is offering a 2-year or 40,000km warranty as standard. To top that off, there’s also roadside assistance on offer that will tow the vehicle in case of a breakdown in the 40km radius of the nearest service station. How convenient is that?
