Skoda India has begun its 2022 innings with the launch of the facelifted Kodiaq at Rs 34.99 lakh. The premium luxury SUV is now available with a turbo-petrol engine only. It’s offered in three broad trims: Style, Sportline (New), and Laurin and Klement.
Here are the trim-wise prices:

Let’s begin with the styling. You really need to have a probing eye to know what’s new as updates are subtle. The grille has grown a size larger (and gets more chrome too), while the headlamps are now a touch sleeker. The air dam gets a slight redesign to keep things fresh. The SUV rolls on a new set of alloys, and the rear end features new tail lamps with dynamic turn indicators.
The ‘Sportline’ trim is new. It gets bright colour options (Race Blue Metallic, Steel Grey Metallic, and Moon White Metallic) with blacked-out elements both inside and outside for a sportier look.
Speaking of which, here are the trim-wise colour options:

Inside, Skoda's new two-spoke steering wheel is the only notable design update. The rest of the cabin has remained as is, which is fine, really. It is practical and spacious, with plenty of Skoda's 'Simply Clever' features like neck extensions for the middle row, dual gloveboxes, and an umbrella.
Some updated features are on offer, like a revised 12-speaker Canton sound system with subwoofer, powered front seats with heating and ventilation, connected car tech, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Retained features include the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, tri-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, and powered tailgate.
Passenger safety is taken care of by nine airbags, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring, and park assist.
The most significant change is underneath the hood, though. The 150PS 2-litre diesel engine is replaced by a new 190PS 2-litre turbo-petrol mill, driving all four wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. It also gets Dynamic Chassis Control, which allows you to adjust the dampers to suit your ride.
In typical Skoda fashion, it is offering multiple service and warranty options. The facelifted SUV locks horns with the Volkswagen Tiguan, Toyota Fortuner petrol, Citroen C5 Aircross, and the upcoming Jeep Meridian.
