Max Revolutions, No Harsh Vibes With The New Harley-Davidson Sportster S

The revolution of the Sportster series of Harley-Davidsons began earlier this year with the Sportster S. Equipped with the same motor as the Pan America 1250, the Sportster S promises to be one of the most enthralling ICE Harleys ever. It has finally arrived at India Bike Week 2021 and here’s how much it costs:

What’s The Price? Who Are Its Rivals?
Since Harley shut CKD operations, the Sportster S arrives at a slightly steep Rs 15.51 lakh (ex-showroom India). To put things into perspective, the Forty Eight, the larger of the two old school Sportster bikes on sale in India, costs Rs 11.75 lakh. For the extra moolah, you are getting quite a motorcycle, with technology that’s sort of alien for Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

The Sportster S will square up against the Indian FTR 1200, which was on sale for a brief period and whose 2022 iteration is slated to arrive soon. For the price, you can also take a look at the Indian Scout Bobber, and the Triumph Bonneville Bobber.

What’s New?

The Sportster S elevates the sporty genes of H-D’s Sportster family of cruisers with its brand new trellis chassis, uprated suspension and the thrilling Revolution Max 1250T engine. On the Pan America, we were plenty delighted with the performance on tap on the new liquid-cooled VVT-equipped motor. It was quick to put down its power, and had an angry sound to accompany the fast-paced action. We expect the same to hold true for the Sportster S.
