Tata Motors has launched the 2023 Tata Harrier facelift from Rs 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings are open for Tata’s midsize SUV and you can buy it in four broad trims: Smart, Pure, Adventure and Fearless. Like before, the Tata Harrier comes with a diesel engine with a choice between manual and automatic transmissions.

Exterior Design 

The Harrier's design update draws its inspiration from the Curvv concept, resulting in a sleek and stylish appearance. It features an enclosed grille with silver accents and a connected LED daytime running light (DRL) with welcome and goodbye function. Beneath the DRL, you'll find a triangular housing with new LED headlights and fog lamps, contributing to the overall aggressive aesthetic.

When viewed from the side, aside from the newly designed wheels and 'Harrier' emblem on the front doors, there are no major alterations. Turning to the rear, you'll notice a new set of connected LED taillights and a modified bumper, further enhancing the car's appeal.

Regarding color options, you can select from a palette of seven choices: Sunlit Yellow, Coral Red, Pebble Grey, Lunar White, Oberon Black, Seaweed Green, and Ash Grey.

Upon entering the updated Harrier, you'll immediately notice a significantly revamped dashboard, which gets different themes depending on the variant you pick. It still retains its floating infotainment system, now boasting a larger 12.3-inch display. Positioned just below are the sleek air conditioning vents and the touch-based controls for the newly added dual-zone climate control system.

The redesign doesn't stop there; you'll also find a new four-spoke steering wheel featuring an illuminated Tata logo, as well as a gear lever inspired by Land Rover for the automatic version. Furthermore, the drive mode selector has been enhanced and now includes a display in its center.

Features Onboard 


The 2023 Harrier gets a range of new features including a fully digital 10.25-inch driver's display, larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, knee airbag (bringing the total count to 7 airbags), powered tailgate with gesture-based opening, rear sunshades, and a powered co-driver's seat.

Additionally, it retains some existing features such as ventilated front seats, connected car technology, a panoramic sunroof, keyless entry with push-button start, electronic stability control, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) for improved safety and convenience. Also, the Harrier has nailed the Global NCAP crash safety test with a full five star rating.

Engine Options

The Tata Harrier retains its robust 170PS 2.0-liter diesel engine, available with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The latter now gets paddle shifters for those who prefer to have more control over their gear shifts. In terms of fuel efficiency, the manual variant is claimed to return 16.8 kmpl, while the automatic version delivers 14.6 kmpl.
