It’s been a long wait, but the Mahindra XUV300 TurboSport has finally hit the market two years after it first debuted at the 2020 Auto Expo. The main highlight of the new variant is that it has introduced a new 1.2-litre Mahindra mStallion TGDI petrol engine that makes it the most powerful SUV in the segment with a 130PS output. The TurboSport series will be sold alongside the existing turbo petrol and diesel-powered versions of the XUV300.

The XUV300 TurboSport costs around Rs 35,000-50,000 over the standard turbo-petrol SUV, depending on the variant. The higher-spec W8 and W8(O) trim levels get a dual-tone paint option for Rs 15,000 over the single-tone variants.
The TurboSport variant stands out with its piano black front grille and lower air dam with red inserts and blacked-out ORVMs. It’s offered in six paint shades including a new Blazing Bronze that's available in single-tone or with a contrast black roof. In addition, a Napoli Black colour with white roof and Pearl White with contrast black roof are also available. Inside, the SUV gets black-themed interiors with leatherette seats and chrome-finish pedals.
The TurboSport variant is primarily different from the standard turbo-petrol version of the XUV300 due to what’s under the bonnet. There sits a new 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, replacing the standard car’s 110PS/200Nm unit, delivering 130PS and 230Nm.
Moreover, it also gets an ‘overboost’ function that boosts peak torque output all the way up to 250Nm momentarily when you need the extra performance, for example, while overtaking.
Although the standard petrol and diesel-powered variants of the SUV get an AMT automatic option, the TurboSport variant is solely offered with a six-speed manual ‘box. Bold move Mahindra!
