When Mahindra announced the prices of the XUV700 SUV less than a week ago, the carmaker only offered the Luxury Pack on the AX7 automatic trims which couldn’t be combined with the optional all-wheel drivetrain. Now, the carmaker has not only allowed the Luxury Pack to be specced with the all-wheel drivetrain, but it's now also offered in the AX7 diesel-manual option at prices starting from Rs 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Here’s how much of a premium the Luxury Pack offers over the standard model:

To spec the optional Luxury Pack, you’ll need to shell out an additional Rs 1.8 lakh premium, which adds features like a 360-degree camera, an electronic parking brake, a Sony 3D surround sound system, blind spot monitoring, and a wireless phone charger. The optional all-wheel drivetrain can also be added at a Rs 1.3 lakh premium.
The top-spec AX7 variant on the XUV700 comes with all the bells and whistles, including 18-inch alloys, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver’s display, dual-zone climate control, connected car tech, and a powered driver’s seat with memory function. More importantly, it gets autonomous driving assistance, including adaptive cruise control, high beam assist, lane-keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, and forward collision warning. Mahindra also retails the XUV700 in the MX, AX3, and AX5 variants, which you can read more about here.
The XUV700 gets either a 200PS 2-litre petrol mill or a 185PS 2.2-litre diesel motor. And while both can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission, it's only the AX7 diesel-automatic iteration that gets the optional all-wheel drivetrain.
The Mahindra XUV700 retails from Rs 11.99 lakh to Rs 19.79 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Keep in mind these prices announced are introductory, and only valid for the first 25,000 bookings. Speaking of bookings, Mahindra will commence them on October 7, with delivery dates to be announced on October 10. The petrol variants will arrive before their diesel counterparts.
At this price range, the XUV700 goes up against a variety of opponents including the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, VW Taigun, Tata Harrier/Safari, MG Hector/Hector Plus, and Hyundai Alcazar.
