The Odysse looks oddly similar to the Bajaj Pulsar 150

Ending the month on a high (and silent) note, Odysse has launched the Vader, a bike that looks like it’s made by combining quite a lot of bikes together.

The bike’s headlight and its cowl, for example, looks like it's straight off the Bajaj CT 125X. Otherwise, from the tank extensions, to the split seat and even the area around the footpegs, all look like they’re straight off the Bajaj Pulsar 150. Unfortunately, it’s not very surprising since Odysse’s first bike also looks similar to a certain Kawasaki bike. Looks aside, let’s have a look at what the Vader packs.

What's the price?  Who are its rivals?

Here’s what Odysse has priced the Vader at:

City

Price (Ex-showroom, including FAME II & State subsidies)

Ahmedabad

Rs 1,09,999

Mumbai

Rs 1,11,999

Delhi

Rs 1,29,999

That means it goes up against the likes of the Revolt RV400 and the Tork Kratos.

What's new?

Here’s a lowdown onto everything this bike packs:

  • 4.5kW (peak power) | 170Nm max torque at the wheel | 85kmph top speed

  • 125km range in Eco mode, 105km range in Drive mode and 90km range in Sport mode | Reverse mode available too

  • 7-inch console facilitating live tracking, geo-fencing, low battery alerts, CO2 savings’ display & a lot more

  • 3.7kWh Lithium-ion battery that can be fully charged in four hours

  • 240mm front & 220mm rear disc brake with CBS (Combined Braking System)

  • 90/90-17 (F) & 140/70-17 (R) tyres

  • 128kg kerb weight - 20kg more than the RV400!

  • 18-litres of storage space!

  • On sale in five colours: Midnight Blue, Fiery Red, Glossy Black, Venom Green & Misty Grey.

The Odysse Vader sounds decent on paper and nothing really stands out in an odd way. The issue though, with the one Odysse bike we tested wasn’t its features, it was the questionable build quality, not-so-subtle design ripoff and an exorbitant price tag. While the last thing doesn’t seem to be too much of a bother in this case, we hope Odysse can at least solve the first two issues with the Vader.
