Indian startup PMV Electric has launched its first electric four-wheeler, the Eas-E EV, priced at Rs 4.79 lakh (ex-showroom). The Eas-E is a quadricycle, the same classification as a Bajaj Qute, that offers a more compact and cost-effective alternative to conventional electric cars such as the Tata Tiago EV and the upcoming MG Air EV. Bookings are underway in India and the pricing is introductory for the first 10,000 customers.
Eas-E is a two-seater city EV
The Eas-E can seat up to two people, a driver at the front and a passenger at the rear. At 2.9 metres long, it’s more compact than regular cars – even the Maruti Alto 800 measures 3.45 metres. It’s also narrower than conventional cars and even the aforementioned Qute, at 1157mm. Nevertheless, the EV has a monocoque construction (similar to most passenger cars) with metal body panels.
Equipped with car-like features
Inside, the Eas-E is pretty well-equipped and even gets an interesting parking feature that can help you move the car in forward and reverse using the smartphone app, similar to what we have seen with BMWs. This can even be operated from inside the car using the multifunction steering wheel.
Other features include electronically operated ORVMs, an infotainment screen with bluetooth, digital driver’s display, air conditioner, power windows and the aforementioned connected car tech and multifunction steering wheel.
Even though it’s a quadricycle, the PMV Eas-E still gets safety features such as a driver airbag, seat belts and a reversing camera.
