You might have seen the India-spec 2024 Swift fully as it has been leaked ahead of its launch, but here’s a quick recap.
Up front, the new grille dominates the face and the ‘Suzuki’ logo has now been positioned above it. Flanking this is a pair of redesigned LED headlights with sleek LED DRLs. Keen-eyed viewers can also notice that the India-spec Swift gets LED fog lamps, a feature the international model doesn’t get.
In profile, the silhouette design remains familiar to the outgoing model, but there are some minor differences. One is obviously the new 16-inch dual-tone alloys and other is the conventional positioning of the rear door handles. Moving on to the rear, the new-gen Swift gets a new set of clear-lens LED tail lamps with an inverted ‘C’ motif.
You can pick up the Swift in the following colour options: Sizzling Red, Luster Blue (new), Novel Orange (new), Magma Grey, Splendid Silver and Pearl Arctic White. The red, blue and white hues can also be opted with a dual-tone option.
Step inside the new-gen Swift and you’ll be greeted by a new dashboard that takes inspiration from other Maruti cars such as the Fronx and Grand Vitara. The dashboard is draped in a black hue with contrasting silver touches, giving it a nice sporty vibe. You also get a handful of new features, which we’ll be talking about next.

In terms of the new kit, you get a larger 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car tech, a wireless phone charger and standard six airbags.
Bits such as automatic climate control, keyless entry with push-button start, cruise control, analogue dials with a multi-info display, electronic stability control and rear parking sensors with camera have all been retained.
One of the biggest updates for the new-gen Swift is underneath the hood. Out goes the 90PS four-cylinder engine and in comes a brand new 1.2-litre Z12E three-cylinder engine. It puts out 82PS and 112Nm, and can be teamed with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. As for fuel efficiency, the manual returns 24.8 kmpl, while the automatic delivers 25.75 kmpl.
Here’s a quick comparison of the 2024 Swift specifications with the outgoing model:

The new-gen 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift renews its rivalry with the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios. Apart from that, it’s also a hatchback alternative to the Tata Punch, Nissan Magnite and Renault Triber.
