Triumph has tasted much success with its limited edition Street Twin Gold Line model, which was a special aesthetic trim of the much loved Street Twin. While only 1000 units of the bike were built, Triumph has other plans for the bike for 2022. However, the Gold Line treatment is going to be extended to all other members of the Bonneville family. And nearly all of them will be in India by early 2022.
What’s The Price?
Triumph hasn’t shared the prices of the Gold Line editions yet. What the company has stated, though is that these special bikes will arrive at a slight premium over their respective standard colour editions. We figure the premium will be around Rs 25,000 - Rs 30,000 depending on the model. This price buffer was the same between the 2021 Street Twin standard and its Gold Line model. Recently, prices for all Triumph Bonneville models were hiked. Head here to check out the new prices.
What's New?
The Gold Line models certainly spruce up the appeal of each one of the Bonnie models. Each one of the golden pinstripes are hand-painted by one of six great Triumph’s artisans. Their chief is Garry Devine. Based out of Hinckley, Garry is the fourth generation of Devines to have worked at Triumph and has trained the other five to carry out the same at Triumph’s Thai facility.
Each one of these Gold Line models, which will not be limited to a fixed number but will only be on sale in 2022, will have the artist’s signature at the base of the fuel tank. Here’s what’s new on each and every single one of them:
Bonneville T120 and T120 Black
What’s Unchanged?
These Gold Line models are mere cosmetic updates. Hence, whatever new bits that each one of these Bonnies got for 2021 will continue to be offered on the 2022 models as well. Hence, there’s absolutely no change to the 900cc and 1200cc parallel-twin motors and the dedicated tunes for each Bonneville model, the hardware, electronics package and styling.
ZigSays
Our pick of the lot has to be the Bonneville Bobber. Its combination of an eye-catching design and thrilling performance is enough to overlook its cumbersome riding posture. But even if you opt for the relatively simpler Bonnies, you wouldn’t be making a bad choice.
