In 2024, Tata Motors introduced several new models, including the Punch EV, Curvv, and Curvv EV. However, the new year is expected to bring more new cars as well as updated models of on-sale cars, including electric vehicles. In fact, Tata Motors has already showcased a couple of upcoming cars in the concept form, such as the Sierra EV and Harrier EV. But there is more. Here is the list of all the cars the brand is likely to introduce in 2025.
The long-awaited Sierra is all set to make its comeback to the market and it is no secret that the SUV will be available in both ICE and EV versions. While the launch date of the Sierra has not been announced yet, we expect Tata Motors to introduce its production version at the forthcoming Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.
The EV is expected to get a 60-80 kWh battery pack with a maximum claimed range north of 500 km. There will likely be a single electric motor with varying outputs depending on the variants. On the other hand, the Sierra ICE could debut the new 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine showcased at the Auto Expo 2023. This engine makes 170 PS and 280 Nm. A 2-litre diesel should also be on the cards, which also powers the majority of the Tata Motors SUVs.
The Harrier EV has been a long-due offering from Tata Motors and is expected to be introduced at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. In terms of design, it will resemble the on-sale Harrier with a few distinctions like the Nexon and Nexon EV. Notably, the Harrier EV is expected to be offered in a dual-motor setup, making it an all-wheel drive. There is also a possibility of a single-motor version in the entry-level variants. While the details about its battery pack are scarce, it is expected to get a larger battery pack than the Curvv EV and Nexon EV with a range of up to 450-550 km.
The carmaker is expected to introduce the all-electric Safari sometime in early 2025. Unlike the Harrier EV, it is expected to offer a three-row seating layout with choices of 6 and 7-seater configurations. The upcoming Safari EV could share its design with the current Safari. Tata Motors may equip the electric SUV with a sizable battery pack or even a powertrain identical to the Harrier EV, featuring multiple drivetrain and battery pack options.
The Punch facelift is another much-anticipated product from the automaker and has been spotted testing on several occasions. The Punch facelift will likely benefit from updates similar to the Punch EV. A fresh look inside and out, especially the redesigned front end as well as the updated cabin, and additional features could be part of the mid-cycle facelift. However, we expect the Punch facelift to carry over its 1.2-litre petrol engine that makes 88 PS and 115 Nm. This motor comes mated to a 5-speed manual and an AMT transmission.
While the Harrier EV could go on sale in early 2025, the on-sale Harrier is also likely to receive a new petrol powertrain option later next year. It is expected to be powered by Tata’s new 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that makes 170 PS and 280 Nm. This could be mated to a 6-speed manual and a dual-clutch automatic transmission. The petrol engine might give a new starting price to the SUV, which would be more economical than the current starting pricing. Meanwhile, the new petrol engine is likely to be introduced during major festive seasons in 2025.
It has been almost 4 years since the Tiago and Tigor received a major update and the next year could bring a substantial change to the hatchback and sedan, keeping them fresh and competitive. In fact, the Tigor rivals, Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Honda Amaze, have recently entered a new generation, bringing in several new and segment-first features. On the other hand, the Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, competitors of the Tiago, have also received significant updates.
The Tiago and Tigor facelift is likely to introduce a new design and revamped interior alongside additional features. But they are expected to continue with the same powertrain options. Speaking of which, the Tiago EV and Tigor EV facelifts could also be in the pipeline. Expect Tata to launch these facelifts late next year.
This is a list of what Tata Motors could launch in 2025 with the major highlights being the Sierra, Harrier EV, and Punch facelift. The next year will also likely witness the introduction of the brand’s new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine in a range of cars, potentially the Sierra, and Harrier. That being said, we cannot deny the possibility of surprise launches and unveils, concept car showcases, variant updates, and other minor changes to the existing lineup.
