Japanese automaker Toyota and its luxury vehicle division Lexus have confirmed their lineup for the upcoming Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. From Land Cruiser 250 Prado to LF-ZC and ROV concepts, both carmakers will showcase a variety of cars. The Auto Expo 2025 will be held between 17 and 22 January at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan in New Delhi.
Expected launch in late 2025
Estimated price - Rs 1 crore
Unveiled in early 2024, Toyota revived the Prado moniker after years with the new Land Cruiser 250 Prado. The carmaker will showcase this at the Auto Expo 2025. It is based on the same TNGA-F platform, which is a ladder on-frame unit as the 300. Speaking of which, the brand has two models under the Land Cruiser series, namely 300 and 250. The latter is also available in distinct appearances — one with round headlights called the 70 and another with square-shaped units.
The overall design is boxy and is reminiscent of the Land Rover Defender and its sibling, the Lexus GX. The off-roader features several modern-day features and equipment, including a new suspension setup. Internationally, the Prado is powered by a 2.8-litre diesel engine and a 2.7-litre petrol motor available in hybrid and non-hybrid forms, depending on the market.
The Japan Mobility Show 2023 showcased the next-gen BEV concept from Lexus, the LF-ZC. This futuristic-looking sedan that sits on the new platform offers a glimpse of a new direction of the brand’s future and design. And Lexus will bring the concept LF-ZC to India at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. Before checking its key highlights, it is interesting to note that the LF-ZC is short for Lexus Future Zero-emission Catalyst. The production version of the LF-ZC will use high-performance prismatic battery technology that intends to deliver twice the range of conventional electric vehicles. Notably, it will go into series production by 2026, followed by international market launch.
Japanese luxury automaker Lexus will also showcase its funky off-road vehicle at the forthcoming Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. Although the Lexus ROV concept looks like an ordinary ADV, its uniqueness lies in its powertrain. The ROV, dubbed Recreational Off-highway vehicle, features a rugged design. Above all, it gets a 1-litre hydrogen engine that is claimed to offer nearly zero tailpipe emissions. The ROV concept boasts a signature Lexus front end and a dark bronze colour, while the interior takes inspiration from the Tazuna concept. Not to mention Lexus has given it chunky off-road tyres, sturdy suspension, and a protective cage.
All in all, we can expect both automakers to showcase some new models from their global portfolio and on-sale cars in the Indian market. For instance, the long-awaited Fortuner mild hybrid could be displayed, featuring a slightly updated exterior and interior. It is worth noting that both the automakers' pavilion at the Auto Expo 2025 will mainly promote sustainability, especially Lexus, given its all-electric and hydrogen-powered lineup.
