India’s mass market giant enters the EV game in the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. And they even had more surprises for the public!

India is gradually taking strides towards the electric evolution on the roads. Maruti Suzuki, the mass-market favourite, had taken this Auto Expo 2025 to bring their first-ever electric SUV —the e Vitara — to meet the public. What was cooler to witness was the seven concepts they introduced in their typical tradition on the public days — not the masses friendly for nothing, eh?! We saw models like Swift, Dzire, Brezza, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Jimny, and Invicto get some unique makeovers in the concept form. Let us give you a rundown of everything that happened in the Maruti Pavilion at the Expo in the next section.

Maruti Suzuki Goes Electric With e Vitara

After a long anticipation, the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara was finally unveiled at the Auto Expo 2025 on January 17. The Maruti EV debutant sits in the compact SUV segment, offering two battery packs, a claimed range of over 500 km, good safety with 7 airbags and level-2 ADAS and formidable rivals like the Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, and Mahindra BE 6. You can take a detailed look at the car in this piece, as we both wait until March for its full prices to be revealed.

Maruti Suzuki Swift Champions Concept

The popular Swift hatchback has been showcased in a ‘Champions Concept,’ and this sporty version will surely remind you of the iconic Lightning McQueen from the Pixar movie ‘Cars.’ In terms of design, the dual-tone red and black Swift features body decals, blacked-out alloy wheels with white tyre outlines, darkened LED headlights and taillights, and a rear spoiler that transforms the Swift’s traditional hatchback image into something of a sporty beast.

Maruti Dzire Luxe Edition

The Maruti Dzire tends to shy away from too many makeovers, and this concept edition promises to enhance the new-gen sedan’s look with added accessories across all profiles of the car.

Maruti Brezza Powerplay Concept

The Brezza Powerplay concept looks just as sporty as the Swift but also brings a touch of menace through its design. It appears as though it’s been taken straight out of a furnace, with a bright fire-like orange shade contrasted heavily with the burnt-like blacks. It also gets decals on the profile, with its name lettered clearly in white.

Maruti Jimny Conqueror Concept

The Jimny in my opinion stands out as the best shown concept in this list. The large Jimny decal and the contrasting blacks over the beige body paint, topped with accessory elements make it look like some military desert vehicle straight out of an international spy movie.

Maruti Invicto Executive Concept

The Maruti Invicto joins the party with an Executive concept edition. While we didn’t have the opportunity to view it firsthand, we do know that the Invicto features an all-beige cabin theme, designed to make the interior feel more airy and spacious.

Maruti Grand Vitara Adventure Concept

With its unique military green colour and mountain motifs, the Adventure edition gives the SUV an updated look. The SUV also has a lot of blacked-out features that give it a stealthy look.

Maruti Fronx Turbo Concept

The Maruti Fronx gets a Turbo concept with rear body decals and a rather sophisticated silver paint at the front making it look flashy.

Well, now that we’ve seen all these unique concepts and the e Vitara, it’s safe to say that Maruti Suzuki has its game well-planned. Regarding the concepts, they haven’t shared much, but we might expect them to gauge visitors' reactions and interest in these models, potentially putting some of them into production in the future.

As for me, the Dzire concept might very well make its way to the market. However, we’ll have to wait and see if Maruti takes it a step further and brings the Swift and Brezza concepts to life. I reckon not, but if they do, it would surely be nothing short of a drip moment on Indian roads. That said, we hope the Jimny concept makes it to its production form if not anything else.
