The 2023 Japan Motor Show is in its full swing now and all the manufacturers have taken the wraps off their interesting unveilings and concepts. And one of the showstoppers at the event is no doubt Suzuki. The Japanese marque had given us a first look at its next iteration of a popular hatchback, an evolved electric SUV concept and much much more.
So without further ado, here’s all the dope you need to know:
One of the biggest highlights that’s India relevant is the new Swift concept, which previews the next-gen model that’s expected to reach our shores in 2024. It gets an overhauled yet familiar exterior styling, an updated interior and certain ADAS features. Also, the hatchback now gets an updated petrol engine as well. The eVX electric SUV concept made its debut at Auto Expo and at Tokyo, Suzuki showcased an evolved version of the same, which gets updated exterior styling with new design touches. Along with the eVX, Suzuki showcased the eWX concept, a four-door compact EV that’s a tad larger than the MG Comet EV. The eWX gets upright styling with plenty of quirky design touches, an upmarket cabin with dual integrated screens and bright fluorescent paint scheme. Also, while technical specs aren’t out, Suzuki says the eWX is good for a range of 230km.
The Suzuki Spacia concept is a four-seater small Kei car that’s specifically designed for the Japanese market. Suzuki says it’s design is like a container, which has the thoughts of more freedom and is easy to use. Also, the Spacia concept comes equipped with certain ADAS features and a cabin equipped with all creature comforts. Small, practical and convenient.
In the Indian market, Maruti Suzuki currently offers the Wagon R CNG for individuals seeking economical operating expenses. Nevertheless, at the Japan Motor Show, Suzuki showcased the Wagon R CBG (compressed biogas), a more environmentally friendly and cleaner alternative to CNG.
Apart from the aforementioned models, there were really a few other cool unveilings from Suzuki such as the India-bound e-Burgman electric scooter, a fuel-cell powered Avenis, flying car, commercial vehicles, robots and much much more.
