The Indian automarket witnessed some significant releases in the month of October. Manufacturers aim for the Diwali season to boost sales and it is always an advantage for consumers to have new models available, whether they are facelifts or special editions. With that being said, here are all the cars that were launched in India in October 2024.
The Nissan Magnite finally received its much-needed facelift since its debut, although the updates are limited to cosmetic changes on the exterior and interior. It retains the same engine options as well, which include a 72 PS/96 Nm 1-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 100 PS/160 Nm 1-litre turbocharged petrol engine.
On the outside, design modifications include a slightly altered front end with a larger grille, complemented by chrome inserts. The updated model features a fresh set of 16-inch alloy wheels. Meanwhile, the rear-end resembles that of the pre-facelift version, aside from the new H-shaped motif in the tail lights. The 2024 Magnite gets two new dual-tone colour schemes that makes it feel more premium and main feature additions are six airbags, ambient lighting and an auto-dimming IRVM.
The Volkswagen Virtus lineup got extended with the introduction of two new variants: the GT Line and GT Plus Sport. Both variants sport cosmetic enhancements that enhance its sporty vibe. Notable changes include blacked-out front grille, all-black 16-inch alloy wheels, and smoked effect on LED headlights and tail lights. The GT Plus Sport variant boasts distinctive red ‘GT’ badges, along with red brake callipers, and a dual-tone roof.
Inside, both variants feature an all-black cabin with aluminium pedals. Underneath the hood, the GT Line is equipped with a 115 PS 1-litre turbo-petrol engine, while the more powerful 150 PS 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine is offered with GT Plus Sport variant. The former starts from Rs 14.08 lakh (ex-showroom), while the latter is priced from Rs 17.85 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards.

Jeep launched the 2024 Meridian with new variants, bringing its starting price down to Rs 24.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Along with 7-seater configuration, it is now offered with 5-seating option, available only with the base Longitude variant. It also boasts improved safety with ADAS including features like adaptive cruise control and forward collision warning.
Other features of the 2024 Meridian include a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, connected car technology, a panoramic sunroof, powered front seats with ventilation, and a 9-speaker Alpine sound system. It continues to be powered by the same 2-litre diesel engine, producing 170 PS and 350 Nm of torque.
BYD launched the eMAX 7 (facelifted e6) in India, with prices starting from Rs 26.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Over the e6, it features a refreshed exterior design with introduction of three-row seating option.
Notable features include a 12.8-inch rotating infotainment screen, a panoramic fixed glass roof, and powered front-row seats with ventilation. Another big update comes in the form of two battery pack options: a 55.4 kWh unit and a 71.8 kWh unit. The smaller battery pack options offer a claimed range of 420 km, while the larger one delivers claimed range up to 530 km.
Kia brought back the Carnival in its new-generation model, priced from Rs 63.90 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards. Unlike earlier, the 2024 Carnival is available only in a single fully-loaded variant, offered only with the 7-seating configuration.
Underneath the hood, it boasts a 2.2-litre diesel engine producing 193 PS/ 441 Nm, mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. It is equipped with features such as a dual-pane sunroof, a 12-speaker Bose audio system, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display. Safety features include a 360-degree camera, eight airbags and Level-2 ADAS.
Alongside the Carnival, Kia also launched the flagship EV9, priced from Rs 1.30 crore (ex-showroom). It comes equipped with a feature-loaded cabin, key highlights include a 18-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated and ventilated seats for both the first and second-row passengers, a premium 14-speaker Meridian sound system and roof-mounted AC vents for the third row passengers.
The EV9 comes equipped with dual electric motors delivering 384 PS and 700 Nm of torque, coupled to a 99.8 kWh battery pack that delivers a ARAI-claimed range of 561 km. It rivals with other electric SUVs like the BMW iX, Mercedes EQS SUV, and Audi Q8 e-tron.
Mercedes' premium saloon, the E-Class LWB, received a new-generation model featuring refreshed styling and more tech. It is priced from Rs 78.50 lakh (ex-showroom), and is offered with three engine options. These include a 200 PS 2.0-litre diesel, a 197 PS 2.0-litre turbo petrol, and a 381 PS 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine, with the former two also getting a mild-hybrid tech.
Top features include a MBUX hyperscreen setup with triple display setup, one for 12.3-inch digital driver’s displays, another for 14.4-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, and a third 12.3-inch display for front passenger. Other amenities include ambient lighting, 17-speaker Burmester sound system, and dual wireless phone charger (one in each row).
BMW's most powerful M4, the M4 CS, arrived in the Indian market with a price tag of Rs 1.89 crore (ex-showroom). It is powered by the 558 PS / 650 Nm 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged six-cylinder petrol engine, accelerating from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.4 seconds. It also boasts a 20 kilos lighter chassis than the standard M4, along with carbon ceramic brakes and firmer suspension for better handling.
Inside, it feels sporty with all-black cabin with carbon fibre accents all around. The M4 CS also features a flat-bottom steering wrapped in Alcantara, M Carbon bucket seats, and M-specific buttons for customised ride modes. The M4 CS locks horns with the Audi RS 5 Sportback and the upcoming Mercedes-AMG C63.
