2021 has been quite eventful with the pandemic subsiding and the two-wheeler market picking up the pace. With electric mobility gaining gradual popularity, we witnessed multiple electric two-wheeler launches as well. Of the entire lot, here are our top 3 recommendations.
Ola S1 Range
Ola entered the Indian electric-scooter market back in August with the launch of the S1 and S1 Pro, creating a massive buzz all around with their pricing, features and the range on offer. Not just that, Ola e-scooters have managed to stay in the spotlight, thanks to the company’s expansion and charging infrastructure plans. We recently rode the Ola S1 Pro and here’s what we think about it.
Simple One
Following the Ola S1 launch on August 15, Bengaluru-based EV startup Simple Energy also launched its first offering, the Simple One, in India. Priced at Rs 1,09,999 (ex-showroom Bengaluru), the Simple One claims to offer a commendable range of 236km from its dual battery pack, of which one is removable. Not just that, Simple also claims that its e-scooter can sprint from 0-40kmph in just 2.95 seconds. That’s 0.05 seconds quicker than the Ola S1. The Simple One has been recently spotted testing as the brand has been working on developing a more durable and efficient battery system.
Bounce Infinity E1
the automobile community
Earlier this month, Bounce launched the Infinity E1 scooter in India at Rs 68,999 (ex-showroom Bengaluru). The Infinity E1 is available with and without a battery. To elaborate, customers can purchase the Bounce Infinity E1 for the aforementioned price with a stand-alone battery unit for their scooter or purchase it for Rs 45,099 and pay a sum between Rs 850 to Rs 1250 as subscription fees for the battery. This makes it quite convenient for first time buyers to venture in the world of EVs.
All said and done, the Indian two-wheeler market is likely to witness even more EV offerings in the coming year not just from new and upcoming brands but also mainstream manufacturers. So, stay tuned till then.
