The 13 confirmed races so far are European based…well Spanish based to be exact

MotoGP has officially revealed a revised calendar of 13 races for the 2020 MotoGP season. 14 if you count Moto2 and Moto3 since they raced at Qatar earlier this year. The season will kick off with double header races at the Circuito de Jerez in Spain for the Spanish and Andalucia Grand Prix on July 19 and July 26. After that, a race at Brno, Czech Republic on August 9, followed by double header races at Austria on August 16 and August 23 will round off five races in a little over a month.

The other eight races of the season will consist of double header races at Misano, Aragon and Valencia with Catalunya and the LeMans being the remaining non-doubler header events. This revised calendar shows the 2020 season will be European based, or more accurately a Spanish based season.

The 2020 MotoGP season was originally set to commence on March 8 at Qatar, but the coronavirus pandemic caused it and other sports events around the world to be put on hold.

While the 2020 MotoGP calendar tentatively ends at the 13th round at Valencia on November 15, MotoGP has kept another four races on the cards at USA, Argentina, Thailand and Malaysia  between November 22 and December 13. Thus potentially making it into a 17 race calendar.

MotoGP has announced that confirmed dates for the four potential races will be revealed before July 31. However, keep in mind that the status of these dates alongside the officially confirmed 13 races are dependent on the coronavirus pandemic including approvals from concerned government authorities for these events.
