General Motors India has announced the recall of 1.01 lakh units of the Chevrolet Beat diesel for possibly defective clutch pedal lever

Chevrolet Beat

The Chevrolet Beat is the compact hatch offered by the American brand along with the Spark in the same segment. General Motors has today voluntarily announced the recall of 101,597 units of the Chevrolet Beat diesel variant for a possibly defective clutch pedal lever. Owners of the Chevrolet Beat diesel manufactured between December 2010 and July 2014 will be notified by the carmaker. The cars will be inspected and if necessary the clutch pedal lever will be replaced for the affected vehicle at no cost to customers.

The company had claimed due to continuous usage the clutch pedal lever is in some cases subject to cracking. Chevrolet’s 248 authorised dealers have been ordered to carry out the necessary service measure after thorough inspection of the component.

“Quality and care are our highest priorities and we are committed to putting customers at the centre of everything we do. If we foresee a potential issue, we ensure that it is corrected as soon as possible, as part of our complete commitment to customer satisfaction,” General Motors India said in a statement.
