The large Mercedes-Benz tourer is a breed which so often denotes the very raison-d-etre of the German marque all through the history of the brand sporting the three-pointed star and sure enough when Mercedes and Benz merged in 1929, one of the most important offerings from this merger cam in the form of the large Nurburg or Nuremburg tourer.

This model ranks right up there in the marque’s history because it helped it achieve commercial stability and was made in large numbers. Quite a few of these were also sold in India and one of the few discovered in recent times was given a thorough ground up restoration in Nagpur and Mumbai to get back to near original condition. This car, owned by press scion Viveck Goenka, quite caught the eye of many showgoers and even the judges themselves who deemed it fitting to be awarded the Resurrection Cup.
