Among the new categories which made their advent in the Cartier event was the Jaguar class and quite simply this gorgeous 1937 SS Jaguar 2+2 tourer (one of only 105 tourer examples built) was the hands down winner. Owned by Chennai-based motoring aficionado TT Raghunathan, this car (chassis no. 19102) was ordered by the Mumbai-based French Motor Car Co. in 1937 but it went back to the UK only to return in 1939.

TT Raghu laid his hands on this car which is a very significant model in Jaguar’s product history, sometime in the late 1970s and then set to work on it himself. His close and exacting attention to detail has got this beauty back to pristine condition and it looked, sounded and drove in a truly magnificent manner. Has to be possibly the best example of its type, not just in India but also out of Europe and the Americas.
