The 2010 version of the mammoth Q7 has taken the inherent characteristics that it always possessed to a new level thanks to a robust design theme and heightened levels of kit and equipment. In the visual department, the new Q boasts of a single frame radiator grill, Xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights and cornering lights and a superhighway beam to allow for amazing visibility while driving at night. The rear has received a bit from the sculptors knife and now possesses a rather purposeful contour. LED taillights are also standard. Riding on 18 inch wheels, the Audi Q7 will makes heads turn and that statement goes without bias!
The insides are draped in fine leather, and customers can opt for either six or seven seat versions. Subtle touches includ e the quality interior materials, interior lighting and neat door lining. Though it was just a glance, one can surely see that Audi has paid special detail to make the interiors more in line with a luxury car. While speaking about the interiors, I ought to mention that the Audi Q7 also offers a number of gadgets that make ownership and driving this behemoth all the more pleasurable.
The number one gadget on board apart from the now famous MMI system is the hard disk drive that is permanently on board! No more pen drives or wires to your iPod, just load your car up with the required music! Then you have the DVD player as well as voice control for all commands. You say the word "RADIO" and your radio will come on. If you network your cellphone via Bluetooth to the SUV's system then you can access your phone with voice controls as well. Its convergence of technology at its best and Audi is sure teaching some of its German brethren how to make an offer that can't be refused!
Commenting about the new Q7 at its launch, Mr. Benoit Tires, MD, Audi India stated, "The launch of the new Audi Q7 comes close on the heels of Audi's Centennial Celebration and spells exciting times for Audi India. The Audi Q7 was launched in India in 2006 and has since established itself as the numero uno luxury SUV in the country. The new Audi Q7 is unmatched in terms of style, performance, safety, comfort and driving dynamics providing customers the complete driving experience which Audi is known for."
Powering the new Audi Q7 are a number of engines that include 3.0 TDI which produces 176 kW (240 hp) and 550 Nm of torque, the 3.6 FSI which generates a decent 206 kW (280 hp) and 360 Nm of torque and of course the all powerful 4.2 FSI which makes a rather healthy 257 kW (350 hp) and 440 Nm of torque. All the engines are mated to a standard six speed tiptronic that allows for smooth gear transitions as well as transfers power effortlessly to the famed Audi quattro system.
