Renault has showcased the face-lifted 2013 Koleos at the ongoing sixth International Buenos Aires Motor Show. Face-lifts seek to make a car better in every aspect and Renault has a done a commendable job all around apart from the restyled front facia which is a much debated affair. The Renault Koleos with athletic design cues continues to look sporty, but the 2013 model’s gaping front grille and the prominent Renault lozenge doesn't score much points on the style front compared to the outgoing model. The two-tone turbine fin shaped alloy wheels on the other hand are rather appealing and add to the SUV’s sporty nature.
The 2013 Renault Koleos comes with a new paint colour called Ebony Brown which is complemented by a new choice of brown leather upholstery. A premium addition is the dual-din Renault R-Link multimedia system complete with seven-inch touchscreen display. The R-Link system packs in a host of multimedia functions including navigation, radio and telephony to Bluetooth connectivity and audio streaming, as well as connectivity for portable music-playing devices.
Additional features that the 2013 Koleos is armed with are the Blind Spot Warning (BSW) which provides a visual warning whenever a vehicle is detected in the blind spot to facilitate safe overtaking and a reversing camera with image displayed on the R-Link display to assist parking manoeuvres.
The 2013 Renault Koleos continues to be powered by the 2.0-litre diesel engine that develops 150PS of power @ 4,000 rpm and 320Nm of torque @ 2,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox that can drive the car in two-wheel drive mode, four-wheel drive mode or be placed in ‘Auto’ mode that sends power to the rear wheels only when necessary.
The face-lifted Renault Koleos continues to be a sporty-looking SUV that comes loaded with equipment and makes a strong case for itself in the premium SUV segment.
