The MGX-21 Prototype, which is a reworked version of the California 1400, was unveiled at this year's EICMA show in Milan

Clad in carbon fiber, matte black paint and red highlights, the MGX-21 offers radical styling and a pretty mean look that is unique compared to anything else in the world of heavyweight cruisers.

A large cowl sits on the front of the bike and sweeping lines from the cowl and fender lead to a rather unusual rear bodywork, covering the wheel, though we can’t say for certain if these double up as panniers.

The front wheel is unique too, and is made from carbon fibre, measuring 21 inches in diameter. Moto Guzzi says the bike is entirely hand built and ‘ready for any frontier in the world’. The engine is the same as in the California 1400 - a 90-degree V-Twin which is good for 97PS of power and makes 120Nm maximum torque.
