Nissan Sunny, Micra Discontinued!

Japanese automobile major Nissan is on an aggressive comeback strategy in India. After setting up their self-owned distribution network, introducing the Datsun brand it became the second largest exporter of Indian-made cars recently. The company’s next step as part of this onslaught is the launch of the updated 2014 Nissan Sunny.
The new sedan has a more eye-catchy design than the older model. It follows the company’s new design language, which is seen on the new Nissan Micra and a host of Nissan’s other international models. The 2014 Nissan Sunny sports new signature boomerang shaped headlights, and a more prominent chrome front grille.
There is also a new front bumper with new fog lamps, shorter radio antenna on the rear of the roof, 12-spoke Y-design alloys and ORVM feature integrated turn indicators adding to the bold styling of the sedan. The rear gets a new bumper too with a chrome strip. (Also Read: 2014 Nissan Sunny Review)
The interiors get a new grey-ish-beige ‘Greige’ fabric and a new piano black instrument cluster to make it more premium. Adding to the sporty design is a new steering wheel equipped with audio controls and hands-free phone option. Other features include Push Button Start, keyless entry, automatic aircon, reverse parking camera and rear reading light. All variants of of Nissan's flagship sedan in India to feature ABS, EBD, Brake Assist and driver's airbag.
The Nissan Sunny facelift is available with the same 99PS 1.5-litre petrol, and in diesel the 200Nm 1.5-litre engine options. Both, the petrol and diesel engine comes mated with a 5-speed manual gearbox, while the petrol motor will also be offered with a CVT in the XL variant.
The new version of the Nissan Sunny sedan is available in six colours including New Nightshade, New Pearl White, New deep Grey along with Onyx Black, Beige Silver and Bronze Grey. The new 2014 Nissan Sunny has been priced between Rs 7.39 to 9.29 lakh for the petrool variants and between Rs 8.33 to 10.02 lakh for the diesel variants (both prices ex-showroom Mumbai) . Nissan hopes to increase its dealership to 200 by the end of FY 2014 and further to 300 by 2016.
