The refreshed Skoda Yeti that was unveiled at the 2014 Auto Expo earlier this year will be launched on September 10. Following the Skoda Octavia and the Superb, the Yeti too will stick to the family design and get the butterfly grille. As opposed to the outgoing model which looked rugged, the new one sports a more sophisticated design language. The headlights are now angular; the round fog lamps give way to horizontal ones, the tail lights too have been revised. Further to all these changes the 2014 Skoda Yeti will also get new alloy wheels.
The interiors too are a continuation of the corporate them of the exteriors. Quality of plastics and overall layout of the dashboard has been improved. In the refreshed version, the Yeti will also get quite a few new features including a multifunctional steering wheel, a touch screen audio system, Bluetooth connectivity, electronically adjustable driver seat and more.
Under the hood, the 2014 Yeti is expected to be powered by the same 2.0-litre TDI engine but will be available in two states of trim producing 110PS and 140PS. The front-wheel drive 110PS version will be mated to a 5-speed gearbox while the permanent four-wheel drive variant with 110PS will be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
Expect the new Skoda Yeti to be priced marginally higher than the outgoing model. The 2014 Skoda Yeti will take on the likes of the upcoming Renault Duster 4x4.
