The German carmaker has pulled the wraps off the 2015 Audi TT Roadster and TTS Roadster ahead of their official debut at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. Borrowing its design cues from the 2015 Audi TT coupe unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show back in March this year, the new Audi TT Roadster sports style and substance.
The new Roadster TT flaunts a chiseled exterior and a power folding fabric roof available in various colour options such as black, titanium, grey or jive. The soft top just takes 10 seconds to fold and can be operated at speeds up to 50kmph. The roof also uses aluminum and magnesium to save approximately 3kg of weight compared to its predecessor. The 2015 Audi TT Roadster is based on the MQB architecture and receives aluminum and high strength components that help in keeping the car’s weight low at just 1,320kg.
Reports suggest that the 2015 TT Roadster will be available with two turbocharged four-cylinder engines. The 2.0-litre TFSI produces 230PS of power and 370Nm of torque, while the 2.0-litre TDI churns out 184PS of power and 380Nm of torque.
The 2015 TTS Roadster will also be available with a 2.0-litre TFSI four-cylinder engine option capable of delivering 310PS of power and 380Nm of torque. This enables the car to sprint from 0-100kmph in 4.9 seconds with a top-speed of 250kmph.
The new 2015 Audi TT Roadster and Audi TTS Roadster will make its formal debut at the Paris Motor Show with sales expected to begin from early next year.
