2015 BMW X6 launched

The first generation BMW X6, when launched in 2008, surprised auto critics as it sold a quarter million units in spite of its oddball, coupe-like hunchback exterior design. SUV seekers loved its imposing stance, which made regular motorists give way to the beastly BMW SUV when seen approaching on their rear view mirrors. BMW has now launched a facelifted version of the X6 xDrive40d at Rs 1.15 crore (ex-showroom Delhi and Mumbai)

In its latest avatar, BMW has managed to make the proportions of this unique Sports Activity Coupe more appealing by give the exterior styling some minor tweaks. Now, the 2015 BMW X6 facelift gets more intricate looking headlights, new muscular bumpers, a prominent kidney grille and a stylish alloy wheels. At the back, the designer have installed fancier taillight, chrome highlights on the new rear bumper, a neatly finished diffuser and a pair of chrome exhaust tips.

In India BMW has launched the new X6 facelift in just the xDrive40d variant which comes with a 3.0-litre twin-turbo in-line six, diesel motor pumping out 317PS of maximum power and 630Nm of peak torque, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission that send power to all four wheels. BMW claims that the xDrive40d can sprint from 0-100 in just 5.8 seconds and has a top speed of 240kmph.

One of the biggest changes will be the introduction of adaptive air suspension at the rear of the new BMW X6 facelift, which would make more susceptible to Indian roads. There are plenty of changes and improvements on the 2015 BMW X6 facelift’s interior too, which add to its overall charm.

The BMW X6 is available on five colours - Alpine White as a non-metallic shade, Carbon Black, Flamenco Red Brilliant Effect, Space Grey and Mineral White.
