2015 Chevrolet Cruze facelift revealed ahead of New York debut

Chevrolet is all set to showcase an updated version of its 2015 Chevrolet Cruze alongwith two other cars, the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette, and a small crossover car at the New York Auto Show this year. The Cruze has been Chevrolet’s best-selling car around the world, with sales of more than 25 lakh since its launch in 2010.

The exterior styling of the facelifted 2015 Cruze, according to the American automaker, has been inspired by the new Impala and restyled 2014 Malibu. The 2015 Chevrolet Cruze gets a new front bumper, a dual-port grille and LED daytime running lights (on LT and LTZ variants). The model has also received revised taillights and an updated color palette.

Updates to the interior include revised cupholders, a trunk release button relocated to the centre console and door lock switches which are now located at the front doors instead of the centre console. The 2015 Chevrolet Cruze also gains Siri Eyes Free technology and a Text Message Alert system which can read text messages aloud. Other notable highlights include a seven-inch color touchscreen display, OnStar 4G LTE connectivity and an optional GPS navigation system.

Reports suggest that the 2015 Chevrolet Cruze is likely to get a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated and a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engines. The 1.5-litre engine is capable of producing 110PS of power and 146Nm of toque. This engine is likely to be paired to either 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The turbocharged engine will develop 150PS of power and 235Nm of torque and is expected to be mated to a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox.

The 2015 Chevrolet Cruze will go on sale this September in US, and we expect it to come to India as well.
