The development of the next-generation Chevrolet Cruze is no longer a surprise as the model in question has been caught on camera while it was being tested several times, but it seems that its development is quite close to the production line as the car manufacturer has recently released the first official images of its interior.
Like the current generation Chevrolet Cruze, the interior of the new model sports the dual-cockpit design, which according to the company is inspired by cars such as the Chevrolet Corvette and Chevrolet Camaro. Pictures revealed seems to be of the high end variant which comes with brown leather upholstery. Also visible are the Piano black interior trim and chrome accents.
The vehicle features a leather wrapped three-spoke steering wheel, MyLink II infotainment system with an eight-inch display and an ice blue ambient lighting. It is equipped with a butterfly-shaped centre console that is claimed to provide intuitive, user-friendly operation with clear functions at a glance.
The interior space of the Cruze was expanded by optimising its layout and structure. The cowl point is moved forward, the four wheels are extended outward and the roof curve is extended backwards. The 2015 Cruze also has a downsized engine that adds to the cabin space.
In China, the Cruze will be available with a turbocharged 1.4-litre engine and a naturally-aspirated 1.5-litre unit. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
The 2015 Chevrolet Cruze is expected to go on sale in China before the end of this year. Chevrolet has not revealed details of whether the new model will come to India.
