Renault India has given the Pulse a new set of premium features in a hope to improve sales of the slow selling hatchback. These include automatic headlamps, steering mounted controls and a height adjustable driver’s seat. The Pulse doesn’t get a facelift as expected though.
Renault is yet to reveal prices in full but the company indicates starting prices for the base petrol variant at Rs 5.03 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi, which is same as the RxL petrol variant of the pre-launch car. We assume the mid-spec RxL is the new base variant now and the RxE has been discontinued.
Sumit Sawhney, Country CEO and Managing Director, Renault India Operations, shared, “Pulse is an important part of our product portfolio and we have made several product enhancements to make the 2015 Pulse even more attractive and exciting for customers. We have topped this with competitive pricing backed with an attractive finance option which adds to its value proposition, making it one of the strongest offerings in the premium hatchback segment.”
The diesel versions of Pulse are powered by the 1.5 litre K9K dCi engine that develops 64PS of power and 160Nm of torque. The petrol variants develop 76PS/104Nm from their 1.2 litre XH5 engine. The petrol Pulse returns 18.06kmpl and the diesel comes up with 23.08kmpl under standard test conditions.
