Following the launch of the Polo and the Vento last year, Volkswagen now shifts its focus on its D-segment sedan. The German giant will launch the refreshed version of the Jetta on February 17. With an uncamouflaged car being driven around Mumbai, spy shots of the 2015 Jetta have already been making its rounds on the internet.
While the overall silhouette of the facelifted Jetta will continue to remain unchanged, there will be quite some changes on the cosmetic front. The refreshed Jetta will sport a new three-slat grille, similar to what we have previously seen on its elder sibling Passat. On either side of the grille, the new car gets Bi-xenon headlights and Daytime Running Lamps. Below the grille it sports a redesigned bumper with a larger air dam. The changes made to the front end give it a much bolder stance. In profile the 2015 Jetta will look pretty much similar to the outgoing model. At the back too the new Jetta will get a remoulded bumper and LED taillights.
Changes have been made to the interiors too. The new car features an upgraded centre console with a touchscreen infotainment system which is complimented by piano black surrounds. Like the other Volkswagen models, this one too will get the flat-bottomed three-spoke steering wheel.
While all the changes on the 2015 Jetta are cosmetic, the engine options will continue to remain the same. It will be offered in both petrol and diesel engine options – a 1.4-litre TSI petrol mill and 2.0-litre TDI. That said, like the international model, the one to be launched here too will see a bump in the power. We expect the 2015 Volkswagen Jetta to be priced marginally higher than the current model with an estimated starting price of Rs 14 lakh.
