The year of 2015 saw the launch of three new bikes in the 300cc category of the Indian two-wheeler market, which consist of the Yamaha YZF-R3, Benelli TNT 300 and the Mahindra Mojo. The Award for the Entry-level Performance Bike was presented to the Yamaha YZF-R3 which we were sure of in the beginning even before the points very given by the jury.
We had the Mahindra Mojo which is the first bike manufactured by the company for the 300cc segment, the Benelli TNT300 was the second competitor in the category with its street bike design. The fully faired Yamaha YZF-R3 was a complete package in term of power, engine refinement, handling, and built quality. The R3 registers the highest power output of 42PS as compared to 37PS of the Benelli TNT 300 and 27.2PS of Mahindra Mojo. The Yamaha deliver very good refined performance with strong mid-range torque which makes the bike an enjoyable experience to ride every time we got on its saddle. The R3 has hints of a commuter seating arrangement at the foot pegs which makes it a comfortable city bike too.
