The Audi Q5 has been with us for a few years now and has slowly waned in terms of both popularity and demand. This is mostly due to the fact that competitors like the BMW X3 have been refreshed in recent times. The entry of the new Mercedes-Benz GLC will also add to the competition of the Audi Q5. The new Q5 seen here will be the first major redo of the car since its launch in 2009 and will feature new styling, new interior and a set of new engines.

Dressed in swirly camouflage, the new Audi Q5 will follow the new Audi Q7 in terms of an evolutionary front fascia with a wide grille that is flanked by a set of sharp new rectangular headlights and familiar looking air intakes on the bottom half of the front bumper. Like the new Audi A4 that ha just been launched, the new Q5 will also get a set of  door mounted mirrors and a more sloping roof and a prominent shoulder line as compared to earlier.  Out back, there's a tailgate-mounted spoiler and a dual exhaust system which is integrated into the rear bumper.

Audi has been tight-lipped about the model but it will ride on the MLB Evo platform that underpins the A4 and Q7.  This should enable the model to be significantly lighter than its predecessor and thus much sportier than before too. Considering recent engines, expect the Audi Q5 to get a set of 4-cylinder petrol and diesel engines combined with the Quattro all-wheel-drive setup and a 7-speed automatic gearbox.
