The Chevrolet Cruze has been given yet another mild facelift for the 2016 model year and has been launched in India at a price of Rs 14.68-17.81 lakh, (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new car will get minor upgrades both on the interior and exterior front but will continue to get the same diesel engine with both automatic and manual gearboxes and no petrol engine just yet.
On the exterior front, the new Cruze is differentiated with a new grille with horizontal chrome stacks and a new daytime running light console just under the new projector headlamps. The new car also gets a rear lip spoiler in an attempt to spice up the rear end. The new Cruze will also get updated interiors that include added features like internet radio, Bluetooth, automatic climate conteil and a SIRI voice recognition interface.
That said, the updated Cruze could come as a disappointment to a fair few customers who were expecting General Motors to launch the brand new Cruze which has already been launched a few months ago in both the China and the United States market. In fact, we here at ZigWheels were certain that GM would showcase the all-new Cruze at the 2016 Auto Expo too. Now though, expect the new car to come to India later in the year to go up against the likes of the Toyota Corolla, Volkswagen Jetta and the Skoda Octavia amongst others.
