The 2016 BMW 7-series had been spotted undergoing tests several times earlier. The prototype was even captured sans any camouflage, but this time around the shutterbugs managed to snap the interior of this luxury car, and images of the same have emerged on the web.
The car features a three-spoke leather-trimmed steering wheel with mounted controls. BMW has dressed the steering wheel with chrome strips which complements its looks further. The car also receives a fully digital instrument cluster with speedometre and tachometre both of which retain the standard BMW styling.
Reports also suggest that the car will come equipped with BMW’s next-generation iDrive system, featuring a touchscreen infotainment interface with gesture recognition. The 7-series is also expected to receive the TouchCommand rear seat control system which consists of a Samsung tablet with a bespoke BMW app, allowing rear passengers to control many of the car’s functions.
Currently, the saloon is offered with one 730Ld diesel and three petrol 740Li, 750Li and 760Li engine options. The 740Li V8 TwinPower turbocharged petrol unit is capable of churning out 320PS of power and 450Nm of torque, the 750Li V8 TwinPower turbocharged powerplant, on the other hand, pumps out 450PS of power and 650Nm of torque, while the 760Li V12 TwinPower turbocharged engine produces 545PS of power and a staggering 750Nm of torque. The six-cylinder oil burner delivers 260PS of power and 560Nm of torque. The engines are mated with BMW's proven eight-speed automatic transmission.
As mentioned above, the new 2016 BMW 7-series is expected to make its debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show this September.
