After teasing the next-generation Beat several times, Chevrolet has finally pulled the wraps off this refreshed car at the 2015 New York Auto Show. Known as the Spark internationally, Chevrolet calls its redesigned hatch sleeker and more aerodynamic.
The 2016 Chevrolet Beat receives hexagonal-shaped grille flanked by sweptback headlamps, prominent character lines, a sloping roof and a new tailgate with an integrated spoiler. Chevrolet states that the new Beat will get more comfortable seats with higher-quality fabrics. This refreshed hatch will also receive colour-coded trim and trapezoidal air vents and a Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system with a seven-inch display.
The Detroit-based carmaker has bundled the new 2016 Chevrolet Beat with safety features such as Side Blind Spot Alert, Lane Departure Warning and Forward Collision Alert. A rear view camera will be offered as part of the standard equipment.
A 1.4-litre four-cylinder Ecotec engine churning out 98PS of power will do duty under the 2016 Chevrolet Beat. The engine will be connected to either a five-speed manual or an optional continuously variable transmission (CVT).
Chevrolet plans to build the 2016 Beat in South Korea and export it to more than 40 markets around the world. The carmaker hasn’t revealed the pricing details yet.
