Kawasaki updated its popular sports tourer offering by riding in the new Ninja 650. The 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 650 was unveiled at the INTERMOT motorcycle show in Germany and gets both cosmetic and mechanical updates. The fairing design has been made sharper and the new motorcycle gets twin-split headlamps similar to the Ninja ZX-10R which makes it look aggressive. The rear section has been redesigned while the underbelly exhaust has been carried forward from the older bike. The new Kawasaki Ninja 650 also gets split-seats with the saddle height being lowered.
Among the most important changes on the 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 650 is the adoption of a new multi - tubular aluminium chassis and new swingarm. According to the Japanese bikemaker, the new trellis frame weighs just 15kg and also has improved the handling dynamics of the sports tourer. The power figures doesn’t seem to have increased but the parallel-twin motor is now Euro 4 compliant and Kawasaki engineers have improved the mid-range performance of the bike. The new Ninja 650 has been put through a rigorous diet as it weighs 19kg lesser than its predecessor. The 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 650 has also been made more comfortable to ride for shorter rider with a saddle height of only 790mm and the seats have been made narrow in front. Braking hardware has also been improved as it gets revised calipers from Nissin and Bosch 9.1 ABS system. The new Ninja 650 is available in three colours: Metallic Spark Black, Blizzard Pearl White and Candy Burnt Orange. We expect the 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 650 to be launched in India by mid-2017 with a marginal increase in sticker price.
