The fourth and final round of the JK Tyre national racing championship was an action-packed event both for the competitors and onlookers as the two day event saw the culmination of the season for five racing disciplines - Euro JK 16, LGB F4, JK Touring Cars Cup and the JK Superbike cup for 600cc and 100cc classes. The races decided the championship winners for the 2016 season as well as kept the packed grandstand viewers cheering and on their feet.
Euro JK 16 cup
This has to be one of the closest seasons thus far with the top three, Anindith Reddy Konda, Ananth Shanmugam and Nayan Chatterjee being separated by just three points with both Anindith and Ananth securing 76 points each and Nayan trailing behind with 73 points in his kitty.
The fourth round was supposed to be a tough one for the trio with the qualifying placing Ananth in pole position followed by Nayan and Anindith.
Anindith though breezed through, securing top honours in all four races and accumulating 40 points over the weekend that saw him seal his championship victory for the season.
Race one saw Anindith come first followed by Ananth while Nayan settled in third place.
Race two had Nayan grab second followed by Akhil Rabindra. Ananth had a tough time coming in 8th but was later moved up to 6th position as Akhil Rabindra and Krishna Mahadik were stripped off their points for not driving with Indian licences.
Lady luck seemed elusive for Ananth and Nayan as Ananth finished 12th in Race three while Nayan had to retire. Race four had Ananth claw back fourth place and gain precious points while Nayan came in 8th place.

Vishnu Prasad had been dominating the season and continued his top form by winning the last three races of the season effectively sealing his championship win. He was at 66 points, leading Raghul Rangasamy by 15 points, a deficit that rose to 21 points. Raghul tried his best but could not match up to Vishnu’s blistering pace and had to settle for second position in all three races. Saran Vikram secures third place in race one and two with a fourth position in race 3 that saw him come third in the overall championship.

Meco racing clinched the team championship for the season followed by Dark Don racing.
The LGB Formula 4 Rookie Cup saw Mira Erda clinch season championship followed by Arya Singh and Ashwin Dutta.
JK Touring Cars Cup
The JK Touring Car Championship has Ashish Ramaswamy winning all three previous rounds distancing him from the competition by 50 points which meant that despite not finishing both the races in round four, he comfortably took the 2016 Touring car championship. It was the second place position that was up for grabs with Deepak Chinnappa and Rajaram C both tied at 61 points at the beginning of round four. The first race had Deepak clinch the win followed by Rajaram who had to retire in race two effectively handing over first place and overall second position in the 2016 championship to Deepak.

The bike races were a high-octane event with both the 600cc and 1000cc class witnessing intense action. Both championships were decided over the two races that took place during the weekend.
JK Superbike Cup 600cc
It was an intense battle fought between Deepak Ravikumar and Gurvinder Singh. While Gurvinder won the first round followed by Deepak and Vijay Singh, Deepak clawed back first place in the second race followed by Vijay while Gurvinder has to settle for fourth place. This effectively meant Deepak won the championship followed by Gurvinder and Vijay Singh.

JK Superbike Cup 1000cc
The 1000cc bikes proved to be an even more intense battlefield as both Sandesh P and Simranjeet Singh traded first and second places in both the races and effectively tying for the championship win. It was however the faster qualifying time that tilted the balance in the favour of Sandesh.
Interestingly, the father-son duo of Gurvinder and Simranjeet Singh both walked away with podium honours. Dilip Rogger came in third in the championship standings while Rajini Krishnan had a tough weekend where a sensor failure saw him nurse his bike to 30th position in race one and skipping race two.
