2016 Renault Koleos spied

The Renault Koleos, a compact luxury SUV is quite a potent car but never managed to do very well in India. In Europe though, the Koleos has managed good sales despite sportier SUVs like the Captur present in the Renault stable. The next or second generation Koleos has been spied doing some routine pre-launch testing in southern Europe.

Although wrapped with a significant amount of camouflage, one can easily spot a basic shape and profile of the SUV. The new Koleos will be based on the R-Space concept and will get sportier styling from the same. The Koleos is set to ditch the boxy shape it currently sports in favour of a more MPV-esque design language with a crossover appeal.

Although not much is known at this point, the new 2016 Renault Koleos will use the new Common Module Family platform for its chassis architecture. The CMF platform also underpins the Nissan X-Trail which is soon to make its debut in India. The new Renault Koleos will also be much larger than its outgoing generation in order to form a differentiate factor with the popular Renault Captur.

The new Koleos will also offer much more luxury and gadgetry as compared to the current generation. That said, whether Renault will continue to partner with Bose for the infotainment system or look for an upgrade is uncertain at this point.
