It has been a week since Bajaj has been posting teasers of its upcoming offering, the 2017 Pulsar 200NS, on social media, creating a lot of curiosity among its fans. Now, breaking the suspense, the bike has already reached a few Bajaj dealerships where it has been put on display as well. We contacted some dealers for further scoop on the same and got to know that the bike has been priced at Rs 1,16,200 (on-road, Mumbai). Some dealers have also commenced bookings for the new Pulsar 200NS at a token amount of Rs 1,000, committing to deliver the bike by the first or second week of February 2017.

As we mentioned in our previous report, the bike doesn't get any major cosmetic update, except the new colour scheme that looks more sportier than the one on its predecessor. The Bajaj Pulsar 200NS was already based on the Bajaj's most advanced platform yet. And hence, continues with the same perimeter frame that is still used in the Pulsar Adventure Sport (AS) series, RS200 and the newly-launched Dominar 400.

The 2017 Bajaj Pulsar 200NS also retains the same 199.5cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-valve engine from the previous model, and also continues to feature the triple-spark technology for better combustion. As far as major changes are concerned, the carburetor type fuel system makes way for a fuel injection unit on the new model, enhancing the response of the motor. We also expect the bike to now be BS-IV compliant. Though the official specs are yet to be revealed, we can expect a slight bump in the power and the torque figures as well. The 2017 model, we believe, will deliver 24.5PS and a peak torque of 18.6Nm, similar to its fully-faired sibling, the RS200.

Other cycle parts of the bike, such as the 37mm front forks, rear Nitrox monoshock, front and rear petal disc brakes etc. are expected to remain untouched. While the models on display at select dealerships did not sport this feature, another new addition to the 2017 Bajaj Pulsar 200NS is expected to be the optional ABS at an addition cost. The overall package with the added features can certainly give its rivals, like the Apache RTR 200 4V and the newly-launched Yamaha FZ25, a run for their money.

This is all we have as of now, keep visiting this space for more updates on the same.
