BMW Motorrad has added another scooter to its short lineup in an attempt to please the urban rider. The mid-size premium scooter made its global debut at EICMA 2017. The C 400 X as per BMW is a smart bike that “is designed to avoid congestion on the road.”
The scooter has been designed to be compact and hence gets wet sump lubrication to make the design simpler. It gets LED lighting as standard but the 6.5-inch full-colour TFT instrument console is optional. The console can be connected to your smartphone for navigation, music, call actions and media access on your phone, etc.
The C 400 X also gets two integrated storage compartments and a single seat with a flexible case under the seat for storage. However, the flex case can’t be opened or used while the scooter is running. You can choose to have the scooter in either an Alpine White or Zenith Blue colour.
It employs a specially designed single-cylinder 350cc engine with electronic fuel injection that churns out 37.4PS of power at 7500rpm and 35Nm of torque at 6000rpm. It further gets a CVT gearbox and traction control system.
For cycle parts, the C 400 X has telescopic forks at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear for easy riding. To bring it to a stop, the scooter gets twin disc brakes at the front and a single rear disc brake, with ABS as standard.
