The 2017 EICMA in Milan is just heating up, and to add more fuel to the fire Harley-Davidson has just unveiled the 2018 Sports Glide. The new member of the Softail family comes with an all-new frame, new suspension, and a plethora of electronic features. These features include a USB port, LED headlamp, keyless ignition and smart security system. The bike also comes with cruise control and ABS as standard.
At the heart of the 2018 Sport Glide is the Milwaukee-Eight 107 engine, which produces 146Nm of torque at 2750rpm.
The new Harley now comes with new lockable, rigid saddlebags, which according to the company can be opened with one hand by a seated rider. Combined, the panniers have a storage capacity of 25.5 litres. Along with it the new Harley also comes with a new fairing that is designed to deflect wind blast from the rider’s chest. It can also be detached with quick-release clamps for fast removal and installation.
According to the company, this will help the Sports Glide transform from a tourer to a commuter by de-attaching the fairing and bags when not required.
The 2018 Sports Glide gets a vivid black colour along with silver cast wheels. The stealthy look is carried over towards the blacked out muffler and engine as well. The Sports Glide has never been sold in India by Harley, but hey, never say never.
