2017 Hyundai Elite i20 Launched At Rs 5.37 Lakh

Hyundai has the launched the updated 2017 Elite i20 in India at a starting price of Rs 5.37 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The 2017 iteration of Hyundai’s most premium hatch in India now comes equipped with six airbags and what Hyundai claims first-in-segment dual-tone exterior options. The Korean car maker has named the dual-tone options as Red Passion with Phantom Black Roof and Polar White with Phantom Black roof.

Hyundai has also updated the black-themed interiors of the Elite i20 with orange inserts to make it look sportier from the inside. The new i20 also gets an updated 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink smartphone integration. 

The Elite i20 still offers a choice between two petrol motors and a diesel mill. The five-speed manual petrol variant is powered by a 1.2-litre Kappa VTVT motor that puts out 83PS and 114Nm of peak torque. The four-speed torque converter automatic transmission is exclusively mated to a 1.4-litre dual VTVT petrol motor that produces 100PS and 132Nm of peak torque. The diesel variant, on the other hand, retains the 1.4-litre U2 CRDi motor that puts out 90 PS and 220Nm of peak torque. The diesel motor comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission. 

Features like smart keyless entry, rear aircon vents, R16 diamond-cut alloys and safety features like ABS, rear defogger and fog lamps also make their way into the 2017 model. The New 2017 Elite i20 is offered in five colour options including an all new ‘Marina Blue’ shade along with the two dual-tone paint options as mentioned above. At close to 8,000-9,000 units a month, the Elite i20 is Hyundai's second most selling car after the Grand i10 and is still one of the best-selling models in India.Here’s the variant-wise price-list (ex-showroom Delhi):
