Maruti Suzuki is going to give a major upgrade to the Swift by next year. And since the hot hatch is going to be updated soon, it is obvious that it's bigger sibling, the Dzire will get a similar treatment as well. The all-new Dzire has recently been snapped while testing for the first time. Despite the heavy camouflage, here is a list of the changes that we expect in the next-gen Maruti Swift Dzire.
On the outside, what can be seen in the spy pics is that the car now features projector headlamps with daytime running lights (DRLs) which look somewhat similar to that on the S-Cross. Apart from that, now it also features a large, Audi-like grille and the front fascia seems to be borrowed from the next-gen 2017 Maruti Swift, which is expected to have its world premiere at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.
At the rear, the car seems like it has been redone, with a new tweaked bumper, new set of alloy wheels and also a new set of taillights (which might be LED). We just hope that the production version stays true to the mule car that was spotted.
Details about the interiors are scarce, but we expect the Dzire to mostly feature dual airbags, ABS, EBD, automatic climate control, keyless entry with push-button start, a touchscreen SmartPlay entertainment system with reverse camera and navigation and steering mounted controls.
Mechanically, the Dzire is expected to get 1.2-liter petrol and 1.3-liter oil burner motors which will be mated to a manual or an automated manual transmission. Maruti might also opt for the SHVS mild hybrid technology on the petrol and diesel variants of the Dzire.
Once launched, the all-new Maruti Suzuki Dzire will go up against the likes of the VW Ameo, Ford Figo Aspire, Tata Zest, Hyundai Xcent and the Honda Amaze.
