We all know that Datsun is working on a facelifted redi-GO, which is slated for launch in the coming days. We also got an idea about its design and features thanks to a leaked brochure. Now, we have received exclusive shots of the actual vehicle as facelifted models have started reaching a dealership. Here’s a closer look:

The model you see here seems to be a mid-spec variant as it misses out on the ‘L’ shaped LED DRLs and flex wheels. The front-end comes with a large grille which gets a dash of chrome and is flanked by sleek halogen headlamps. Below it sits a pair of ‘L’ shaped chrome elements in place of the DRLs and LED fog lamps found in the top-spec model. In profile, the redi-GO comes with new wheel caps while the top-spec model could come with alloy wheels. At the rear, we expect it to come with updated tail lamps with LED elements.

Open the door and you’ll find that the redi-GO has traded its rudimentary dashboard for a premium one. It’s finished in black and comes with silver and gloss black elements. The single-DIN audio system has also been traded in for a 2-DIN unit. Other highlights include a redesigned steering wheel and instrument cluster.

The Datsun redi-GO will continue to utilise its 54PS 0.8-litre and 68PS 1.0-litre petrol engines with upgrades to meet BS6 emission norms. While both motors will be offered with a 5-speed manual transmission, the 1.0-litre engine will also benefit from a 5-speed AMT unit.
