Thai tuner NKSDesign has revealed two body kits for the 2020 Honda City inspired by the Honda’s Civic Type-R hot hatch and NSX hybrid sports car. The exterior of the body kits mimics noticeable aspects of the two sports cars. These kits only change the exterior appearance of the sedan without affecting its performance.
The Civic Type-R body kit mirrors the original hot hatch. It sports the same triple-outlet chrome tip exhaust at the rear and large faux inlets in the fog lamp area on the front bumper. The kit also gets a lip spoiler and side skirts in contrasting colours while the rear bumper features a similar black garnish around the reflector area.
If you've observed the front bumper of the NSX, you'd notice the resemblance in the inspired body kit. It gets similar air dams at the bottom and faux air vents in the corners. The diffuser at the rear features the same design and number of fins as the NSX along with the standout trapezoidal-shaped exhaust outlet. The only addition that doesn't feature on the original sports car is the GT wing spoiler on the rear boot.
Note that the body kits do not affect the performance of the engine with the 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing the same 122PS and 173Nm. Drive to the front wheels is provided through a 7-speed CVT.
Back home, the launch of the 2020 Honda City has been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent lockdown. It has already been spotted undisguised on the roads and spy shots have revealed the interior design. It is expected to feature BS6-compliant 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines. Its appearance is largely similar to the international-spec model. It will lock horns with Hyundai Verna, Toyota Yaris, and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
