Japanese two-wheeler manufacturers Honda pioneered the concept of monkey bikes, otherwise known as Groms. They were first introduced in the 1960s and became an instant hit among motorcyclists since they were small, compact, low-powered, and yet a whole lot of fun. Honda has come a long way since then, and while the overall concept hasn't changed, these bikes are more feature-rich and technologically driven than before. Sold in Vietnam as the MSX 125, it gets new colour options for 2020.
The new palette features three colours: red/blue, white/red and yellow/black. These colours breathe new life into the bike and add to its overall appeal. Apart from the new paint schemes, the MX125 remains unchanged. It's powered by a 125cc single-cylinder engine, which is yet to receive its Euro 5 update. In its current state of tune, the motor produces around 9.3PS and 10.6Nm mated to a 4-speed transmission.
Don’t have high hopes though, the Honda Grom or the MX125 may never see the light of day in India for a couple of reasons. Firstly, small-capacity premium bikes like these won't make any sense in a price-conscious market like ours, especially when it costs over Rs 1 lakh. Honda already tried a variation of this concept in the form of the Navi, but it failed to make a mark in the two-wheeler segment.
