UPDATE: Hyundai will launch the 2020 Creta on March 16.
Waiting for the 2020 Hyundai Creta? We have some good news. Our sources have confirmed that the midsize SUV will be launched in the country on March 17. Just like a typical generation update, the 2020 Creta, which was revealed last week at Auto Expo 2020, comes with new exterior design, revamped interiors, and upgraded engines.
The 2020 Hyundai Creta gets a striking new exterior design, replacing the current model’s no-nonsense styling. It features Hyundai’s latest iteration of the cascading grille, flanked by split LED headlamps. In profile, you’ll notice the Creta sits on new 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. Other highlights include a prominent shoulder line and squared-out wheel arches. At the rear, the Creta comes with split tail lamps -- a design element that could polarise opinions.
A sneak peek into the 2020 Creta’s cabin reveals a simple dashboard layout. There’s a horizontal infotainment system, below which are knobs for climate control. We could also notice the new 4-spoke steering wheel.

In terms of features, the Creta will come with a panoramic sunroof and BlueLink connected car technology. It is also expected to get Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, climate control, a digital instrument display, cruise control, a wireless phone charger, powered driver’s seat, and ventilated front seats.
Expected safety features include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, a rear parking camera, electronic parking brake with auto hold, and electronic stability control.
The 2020 Creta will utilise the same powertrain found in the Kia Seltos. The Kia comes with three engine options: a 1.5-litre diesel, a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, and a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol motor. The T-GDI motor will join the Creta at a later date. Here are the detailed specifications:
