The Venue’s BS6-compliant 1.5-litre CRDI motor develops 100PS of power. It will most likely utilize a 6-speed manual transmission as standard. Here’s how the Venue’s new 1.5-litre motor fares against the Kia Seltos’ 1.5-litre unit and the older 1.4-litre CRDI motor:

The Venue’s 1.5-litre motor develops 10PS more power than the older 1.4-litre unit. However, it’s 15PS less powerful than the Seltos’ 1.5-litre unit. The main change between the Venue’s and Seltos’ unit is expected to be the turbocharger as the former could utilise a smaller fixed-geometry unit.
It must be mentioned that this new engine will power a host of Hyundai and Kia cars including the upcoming Kia Sonet and Hyundai i20.
The BS6-compliant Venue will lock horns with the Ford EcoSport, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and the upcoming Kia Sonet.
