Mahindra Thar’s Accessories List Reveals Plenty Of Customisation Options

The long wait for the October 2 launch of the second-gen Mahindra Thar is nearing its end with most of the details of the off-roader revealed. Already made up your mind on the Thar? Well, you will be able to personalise it with a list of accessories that have been leaked via a brochure. And we can tell you there’ll be a lot of customisation options.

 

Starting off with the cosmetics, the Thar will be offered with an Exterior pack comprising front bumper cladding, front bumper applique, wheel arch cladding as well as appliques for the headlamps, ORVMs, tail lamps and shoulder line. Other cosmetic options include chrome inserts, body cladding, ring protector for the 18-inch alloy wheels, front bug deflector, side door cladding, plastic footstep, and side decals. For the AX variants, you can also get the 18-inch alloy wheel setup from the LX variant.

 

Heading inside, you’re treated to a multitude of seat cover options, floor mats, steering wheel cover, a magnetic sunshade for the front windows, and scuff plates. The AX variants also get a full floor lamination mat, remote key, and the LX variant’s roof speaker mounting kit. Speaking of music systems, you can upgrade to a variant of Vibe branded speakers as well as amplifiers and subwoofers for all variants. Other accessories include a parking camera, LED DRLs ( for AX and AX Opt), a variety of full and half body cover options, and a mud flap set for the front and rear.

The Mahindra Thar will be offered in three variants: AX, AX Opt and LX. A 2.2-litre diesel and 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine will be the powertrains on offer, paired with 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions. Expect a starting price of around Rs 10 lakh. It will rival the likes of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Jimny and the new Force Gurkha.
